General Member Application
We want to ensure our members are passionate and driven to enact public health change. Working with local organizations means there is a steady stream of tasks to tackle, and we need to know you will be able to handle the responsibilities to come. Furthermore, we are looking to see if our club aligns with your academic and professional goals. There is a limited number of committees available, so we want to recruit members who are committed, dependable, and excel at collaborating with a team! Below are details of our application process. Please note: we only recruit in the fall.

Timeline (2026-2027 Academic Year)
Monday 9/14; 11:59PM EST
We are looking for dedicated, passionate, and curious students to join our club. Make sure to take some time to demonstrate your understanding and interest in public health in your application. Refer to our project sparknotes detailing planned projects for the upcoming year.
Introductory Mass Meetings
Virtual: Sunday 9/06, 5:30PM - 6:30PM EST on Zoom
In-Person: Wednesday 9/09, 5:30PM - 6:30PM EST in CHEM A859
Attend one of two informational mass meetings to learn if CURIS is a good fit for you, meet other prospective members, and talk with our Executive Board! We will talk more about our organization, discuss who we are partnering with this year, and explain what the application process looks like. Content is identical between the two meetings.

Prospective Member Coffee Chat
Friday 9/11, 4:00PM - 6:00PM (drop in anytime) in Union Sweetwaters (look for people with CURIS nametags)
Grab some coffee and connect with current CURIS members! Here's a chance to make your impression in a casual setting. We'd love to get to know you better, and will be available to answer any questions you have before you submit applications.

Interviews (Invitation-Only)
Friday 9/18 - Wednesday 9/23
We want to learn more about you! These casual, 30-minute Zoom interviews are opportunities for us to learn more about your academic and career goals and assess if your interests align with our organization. We hope to build a tight-knit community of students interested in furthering community health through partnerships throughout Michigan.
