With diverse experiences in public health and beyond, our team guides club members to take an active role in local public health initiatives, ensuring that CURIS continues to be a leader in health advocacy and education on campus. Along the way, we hope to foster the next generation of public health-oriented leaders.

President

Owen Chun

Owen is a senior and 2025 CDC John R Lewis Scholar studying Public Health Sciences (B.S.) and Microbiology (B.S.). His public health interests include infectious disease surveillance, health equity, and food insecurity. Owen hopes to pursue a Master's in Public Health (MPH) and become a licensed public health microbiologist after he graduates.

Internal Vice-President

Anika Deshpande

Anika is a senior studying Neuroscience (B.S.) and Spanish (B.S.), with a minor in Sociology of Health and Medicine. Her interests in public health involve developing adaptable longitudinal care plans for patients after discharge and bridging systemic cultural gaps in healthcare. Following graduation, Anika hopes to attend medical school to advance health equity from within.

External Co-Vice President

Gabrielle Bowie

Gabrielle is a senior studying Public Health Sciences (B.S.) and International Studies on the Global Health and Environment track (B.A.). She has been a member of CURIS since her first year. Her academic interests include public health policy and federal resource allocation, examining how vital healthcare resources are distributed unequally across populations. After graduation, she intends to pursue a Master of Public Health to work in health policy and law.

Eve Goddard

Eve is a junior studying Community and Global Public Health (B.A.), with minors in Biology and Middle East Studies. Her public health interests center on community-engaged research and the interplay between built environments and health outcomes. Upon graduation, she intends to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) to ultimately examine the relationships between inequity and health within a community context.

Social & Recruitment Chair

Isabella Malek

Bella is a senior studying Public Health Sciences (B.S.) and Spanish (B.A.) with a focus on advancing health equity. She is especially interested in expanding preventative care, reducing language barriers, and strengthening community-based health programs. After graduation, Bella plans to pursue healthcare consulting to help organizations create more accessible and effective health systems.

Logistics Chair

Leah Huang

Leah is a senior studying Nursing (BSN) with a minor in Global Public Health. Her public health interests include advancing culturally cognizant care and improving provider-patient communication to better support individuals with complex care needs. Leah plans to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree and become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
